What psychiatric services might I receive?

As a full-service behavioral health practice, DeNova offers:

  • Medication management
  • Genetic testing
  • Psychotherapy

The team customizes services to meet each patient’s unique needs. They take a whole-person approach that supports all the life factors that contribute to successful treatment, helping with issues related to family, friends, work, and school.

What treatments do psychiatric services provide?

Though the list above shows many services, several treatments build the foundation of your treatment at DeNova:

Medication management

Medication management includes prescriptions to treat mental health disorders and medications used to support outpatient addiction treatment (medication-assisted treatment). Your provider prescribes medications that stop cravings and withdrawal symptoms, allowing you to detox safely and begin your recovery without needing inpatient care.

Psychotherapy

This therapy goes hand-in-hand with medication management. Whether you struggle with substance use and/or mental health disorder, the team doesn’t prescribe medication without also providing therapy.

While medications ease symptoms, counseling gives you the keys to long-lasting success. Through counseling, you gain the coping skills needed to overcome your challenges. For example, you may learn anger management, social skills, or how to triggers that tempt you to relapse.

Gene testing

This test is a genetic test that shows your provider how your genes may affect medication outcomes. Gene testing may reveal which medications used to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions might require dose adjustments, be less likely to work, or have an increased risk of side effects based on your DNA.
