DeNova provides structured intensive outpatient services (IOP) for individuals who require more frequent clinical support than standard outpatient visits. IOP offers a higher level of outpatient care while allowing patients to continue living at home.

Appointments are available in Lexington, and Richmond, Kentucky.

What Are Intensive Outpatient Services?

Intensive outpatient services involve scheduled medical and behavioral health appointments several times per week. Adults typically participate in approximately nine hours of care weekly.

This level of care is commonly used for individuals managing complex behavioral health concerns.

How Is Level of Care Determined?

Your provider conducts a comprehensive evaluation, including:

• Medical history review
• Psychiatric assessment
• Physical and behavioral health evaluation
• Review of social and environmental factors

Based on this assessment, your provider determines whether intensive outpatient services or another level of care is appropriate.

IOP may be used:

• As an initial level of structured outpatient care
• As a transition from a higher level of care
• When additional clinical support is needed

What Does IOP Include?

Care plans are individualized and may include:

• Group therapy
• Case coordination
• Education about health and behavioral wellness
• Development of coping strategies
• Support planning
